Diplomacy That Will Live in Infamy
By JAMES BRADLEY
Rye, N.Y.
SIXTY-EIGHT years ago tomorrow, Japan attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor. In the brutal Pacific war that would follow, millions of soldiers and civilians were killed. My father — one of the famous flag raisers on Iwo Jima — was among the young men who went off to the Pacific to fight for his country. So the war naturally fascinated me. But I always wondered, why did we fight in the Pacific? Yes, there was Pearl Harbor, but why did the Japanese attack us in the first place?
In search of an answer, I read deeply into the diplomatic history of the 1930s, about President Franklin D. Roosevelt's policy on Asia, and his preparation — or lack thereof — for a major conflict there. But I discovered that I was studying the wrong President Roosevelt. The one who had the greater effect on Japan's behavior was Theodore Roosevelt — whose efforts to end the war between... (more)
In my own ashes..
Enserio, me siento... algo insignificante. No me siento bien. Enserio. ¿En qué me he convertido?.
(more)

4urEyezOnly damn I plunged up!
As I sit here crying, I know I fucked up, that what I did was wrong, yet... For the life of me, I couldn't help myself that night. I was hurting, and feeling unwanted. I'm sorry for what I did, and if I could take it back, baby I would.
Ghost Hunter We Are The Martians!
"How long have we been trying to get to Mars?", asked Pope Flores at the SubGenius Devival of the Fittest held at Liar's Club. "The costs are high, and no one has figured out a safe way to return", he said. "To escape religious persecution the Chicago Clench requests the right to be sent one way to Mars. To colonize the planet. To become the Martians". The World's Fallible Pope made the declaration over an unusual musical cacophony of violin, Jews harp and kazoos.
The Church begins its Intergalactic Sex Wars Devival Saturday December 12 and 19. Special Guest Rev Hells Belle from Colorado will perform her poem about sex with space aliens to theremin music, the Pope promises a "healing ritual".
